板巖的開采方式為露天開采和地下開采,采用方式為露天，地下開采相結合。開采工藝簡單，利用機電開采，人工劈分的方式進行加工。開采加工所需電力為豐富的水電資源，屬清潔能源。而相同用途的小青瓦和瓷磚則是用煤、木材或其他燃燒材料進行燃燒后，高溫燒制而成。該產品每一平方米的能耗只有生產小青瓦的五十分之一，瓷磚的六十分之一。另外，由于產品都是使用機電和人工結合的方式進行生產和加工，相對于小青瓦和瓷磚在生產過程中需燃燒燃料進行生產的碳排放量，該項目的碳排放幾乎為零，是名副其實的低碳產品。該產品的大范圍推廣能夠積極有效的推動降低能耗，減少碳排放。
現已完成香格里拉縣格咱鄉翁上村廠區基礎設施建設，在翁上村礦點已開三個洞口，4米×4米洞口共掘進610米，基本探明可用于室內裝修用的小型板礦脈走向和下一步開采板巖的工作。
現香格里拉浪都廠區已挖掘5米×4米礦洞，共掘進1120米，已完成三通一平工作，在浪都廠區完成投資建設 (半機械化的鋼體結構)廠房1800㎡，新修炸材庫一座，職工宿舍一幢，并投入部分機械及生產設備。安裝調試完成4條生產線，已產出大量板巖產品投入市場，產品經過安裝得到一致好評。
目前年生產能力在20萬平方米左右，技術主要來源于在國內開采板巖多年的專家及企業；技術屬國內領先水平；產品達國際要求?，F正在招商引資進行礦山改擴建工程，最終生產規模將達到年生產500萬平方米板巖產品。
認識板巖
Surface mining and underground mining are two methods commonly used to obtain slate. As far as this project is concerned, both are employed. The mining process is simple, mainly by use of mechanical and electrical means as well as manual cutting and separating. The electricity required for such process is supplied from hydropower facilities, which is completely clean. In contrast, small-sized black tiles and ceramic tiles used for the same purpose have to be fired in kilns at high temperature, which consume a huge quantity of coal, wood or other combustible materials. The energy consumed in production of slate tiles is only one fiftieth of that for black tiles, and one sixtieth of ceramic tiles. In addition, thanks to the employment of both mechanical and electrical means as well as manual cutting, carbon emission is nearly zero throughout the production, which is in no way possible for production of black tiles or ceramic tiles. So, the widespread use of slate products can effectively reduce energy consumption and carbon emission.
By now, the required basic facilities have been erected up in a plant, which is located in Wongshang Village, Geza Township, Shangri-La County. Specifically, three adits at 4m×4m length and width, 610m depth have been completed in the mining site in Wengshang Village, by which, the strike of small-sized slate veins that can be used for interior decoration have been proved and the works to be done in the next stage fixed.
A 5m×4m×1120m adit has been dug; roads, water and power supply facilities as well as ground leveling have been completed in Langdu Plant, Shangri-La. Other works already completed in the plant include: factory buildings (a semi-mechanized steel structure) with 1800 m2 in area, a new exploded stones repository, a dormitory and installation of some mechanical and production equipment. 4 production lines have been successfully commissioned and come on stream. The products out of these lines are highly commended by their users.
The annual production is currently around 200,000m2. The domestic experts and companies with considerable successful experience in slate mining are our main source of technical supports. We have China's most advanced technologies; our products is fully compliant with international standard. Now, we are inviting new investors for the extension of the mine to increase the annual production of slate products up to 5,000,000m2.
